Anyone else notice how this movie had almost no medium shots or close-ups? I mean except for the scenes where they're in cars, and a couple of exceptions it's always one long wide shot to cover a scene.

Was this a stylistic choice? Or a budget decision to save on film?

Stylistic choice.

More of a documentary feel... less of a movie, more like we're just there with them. The movie is beautiful. An excellent film done flawlessly. Makes the upcoming film Children of Men something to consider watching as it's done by the same director(also directed 3rd Harry Potter).
