Copy and Paste attributes, etc.

I'm trying to figure out how to copy and paste the effects and a keyframes of one comp into a new comp.
Basically, it's a title I created in Motion then brought into AE to add Shine.
I have a second version of the exact same thing, only the name in the title is different, and I don't want to have to do all the keyframing with Shine again.

I'm sure there must be an easy way to copy and paste?

That's exactly what you do is copy and paste. What is the problem you are running into?

Duplicate the layer or the comp and just type the other word.

Cant you just twirl down, click on the Shine effect, compy it in its entirety (with kkeyframes and all) and past that into the new text layer? I thought you could.

Rapier, going to give that a shot.

Steve, I can't duplicate the layer and re-type in AE because the text file and animation was created in Motion.
