Here's some shots I took while on Vacation, taken with a Canon 10D in RAW mode, with a 50mm 1.8 lens. Some cropping and contrast adjustments, color saturation/desaturation. Fire away!

Very nice. The colors are intense on the second, but it is right next to a couple of near grayscale.

The bones one is chilling.

And I'de love to hear how you did the time lapse name writing. How many shots did that take?

Well, the time lapse name writing was done with a small single LED flashlight, and I held my finger over the end so that it was actually red, instead of white. I shot it wide open (f 3.5 on the wide angle lense that I used, that one wasn't with the 50mm) with a 30 second shutter. Wrote my name out as quick as I could backwards while facing the camera. I think that one took about 4 tries to get right, and even then you can see that the I and the C are sort of merged together. In photoshop, I boosted the exposure all the way up, which introduced grain, so I made it B&W, which made the grain more stylistic. In the original the background is almost not visible. Anyhow thanks for the good words!

Those are amazing pictures. great vibe to them. the second one (blue with the people and dog) almost looks like it's from another planet. Very surreal. Way cool.

thanks for the good words! Does anyone have any critique? For me....the fact that the horizon isn't level in the 4th one down on the second set (tire tracks) bugs me....

The ONLY ctritique I would say is to try to not shoot EVERYTHING wide open.

Shallow DOF is cool, but try some other apertures......

I feel like an ass saying that though as your technique is phenominal!

Haha, don't feel like an ass! The only way to progress is to learn and try new things! If you want to check out some more of my stuff, I have some photos posted up at
