Been waiting for over an hour for the registration to come through. They've got until I leave for work, then it comes off the computer.

Check their website, but I think it says this free version does not work with Tiger. It only works with earlier versions of the OS.

Perhaps it did. "Free Bryce 5.0 until Sept 6". No harm though other than starting a second thread. You can always use the search function before starting a thread, tends to weed out those multiple posts on the same subject. :dankk2:

Version 5 is an older version. Their website says version 5.5 is the latest and I believe they're coming out with version 6 soon...

And all it does for me is lock up the computer. More Corel crap.

And I love the email (which finally came). Just put this code in the box! There is no box.

OK. Download this! Done. The serial number doesn't work for that.

Bye bye, Bryce. Come back when your programmers know what the hell they're doing.

I'd really advise you to think about this carefully before installing this.

Since installing and then uninstalling it (because it didn't work), I no longer have any media abilities. No video, no music. Not locally, not over the web. Nothing.

I wasn't planning on spending my weekend rebuilding my system, but...

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble GenJerDan...I downloaded, installed, and registered the program with no trouble and my computer is still working fine. The only problem I had (other than not knowing how to do anything with the program itself yet) is that once I ran it I couldn't figure out how to close it. I clicked on every button I could find and finally resorted to hitting CTRL+F4 (the MS Windows keystroke to end a task), to which I received a "Would you like to save your changes?" type dialog and when I said no, then the program closed gracefully.

I really need to see if there is a manual or tutorials I can download.

You noticed that, too? :)

The problem is that it isn't really a native "program", as far as I can tell. It's a set of scripts and an engine for them. Well, when I removed it, it removed *all* scripting capabilities. Javascript, vbs, whatever. Gone. Gone to the point where I just tried to italicize that "all" and I couldn't because it uses scripting. Gone to the point where I can't go to MS and download any updates to try to fix this problem because...ta-da!...the web pages use scripting, too.

And, for some bizarro reason, when I uninstalled it, it decided to remove my newsreader while it was at it. Just the executable, though. It left me all my data files and such.

Can't even use a restore point because the restore applet uses scripting, so I'm gonna try a "repair" installation. (I already tried reapplying SP2, and installing IE7)

I really don't need this. I've got too may other things to do. The 5th season of Charmed, the first 2 seasons of Bewitched, the 2nd season of Carnivale...

Heres a quick image with model created using DVXuser logo.

I'll grant that I frequently have problems finding things if I am trying something new but for the price I like it. And for the free price it's even better, provided it does not screw up your system. Sorry for that GenJerDan. Hope you get it back the way it was.

Semi back. But now every link in IE/history/favorite opens a new window. Not disasterous, just weird.

Just started a new thread (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?p=673139#post673139) for some more free software. Content Paradise is giving away Poser 5 until Sept. 4th. ALso remember Bryce 5 is still good until the 6th.

Guess everyone is giving away free software now. Content Paradise (part of the eFrontier family) is giving away Poser 5 (they are on 6 now). It is good till Sept 4, but once you have "purchased" it, you can download it at anytime from the mystuff section of your profile. It is free to sign up there and they have some great free models every week in addition to the ones they are sellling.

...with no clickables in the email.

You might want to sign up then click on the link I put up. I have been a longtime member of that site so I just noticed it when I logged in today. As long as you have/create an account and put the program in your cart and checkout, it will stay in your links to download for 10 downloads.

Ah. I had to save the email off as a web page, and then it worked. Idiotic. Never ahd to do that with anyone else's HTML email. Weird.

They're have trouble because so many are downloading it. Mine failed about half way through but it said it would stay in "my stuff" indefinitely and to try to download later.

Everything worked for me, except the program interface. Now I remember exactly why I threw away all those old pirated versions, the interface sucks. What ever happened to intuitive programs like InfiniD 3d and the old 3D Max even? I'm building a retro system that will once again run my InfiniD, which started giving me "Insufficient Memory" errors when I moved up from my 1800XP chip.
