the movie opens friday. i'm going to see it. Penn looks freakin great from the trailer, and i'm a huge Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Anthony Hopkins and James Gandolfini fan

What is this? "I Am Sam 2"? This movie looks hilarious, and in a really bad way. As for the positive side, Penn has rekindled one of my favorite past times, impersonating overacted moments in Oscar postering trailers. "And IIIII wullll naaahhht LEHHHHTTT THEEEEAAAAYYYMMMM!!!" I scream that at least five times a day at work and no one has the slightest idea what I'm talking about.

"Lisssen! Lissen ca-lose... If ya-who don' vote, ya-who don mattah!"

just got back from seeing the movie. really good. Penn, Law, Hopkins, and Patricia Clarkson all give Oscar worthy performances. Penn really gave the character all he had acting wise. Showed the frustration of the government taking things away from the people and lining their own pockets with it. that's why he's yellin all the time. i didnt feel he overacted at all, and i think Penn should be recognized by the Academy this year. Law was great and deserves a nod if not a win for his supporting role as Jack Burden. Clarkson should be nominated for Best Supporting Actress, and Hopkins gave a great performance as well. acted well all around... Gandolfini did an ok job, but it was hard for me to not think of him as Tony Soprano. All the King's Men should be nominated for Best Picture, Best Directing as well, even though i think Eastwood will win for Flags of Our Fathers, but King really deserves to be nominated. the score was one of the best i've heard all year, right under DaVinci Code's thread. there were a ton of great shots throughout the film. go see the film, you won't be disappointed.

The film has been on the shelf for two years until they could edit out the problems. They decided to release it now to try to get some academy nods, since it won't make any money. Directed by Steve Zaillian, one of hollywood's highest paid script doctors/screenwriters.
