don't know if this belongs here or in FCP folder.

I shot my footage with the F5 setting, then captured in FCP 4. My sequence settings are for 29.97. I had to actually change the sequence setting from 23.97 to do this for every sequence I have. Now here's the thing: I was viewing one of my shots in the canvas, and was tapping the arrow keys so I went one frame at a time. What I noticed was that the image would sometimes show these extra horizontal shutterblind-like lines and then not. I found they appeared in pattern: three normal images (frames) and then two frames with the funny horizontal lines, then three normal, then two funny ones, and on and on, for every clip. My question is: why is this? Does this have something to do with the "pulldown?" Does the presence of these horizontal lines cause the footage during playback to have a more "video" look? Are these "extra" frames to make the sequence frame rate work? Anyone know?

those are the interlaced frames, yep they are how u watch 24 frame movies on normal tv's. U can ofcoarse export to 24 frames if u wanna out to film or something but ur gonna view on a tv ur gonna have t deal with 2 interlaced frames every 5 frames i believe, all hollywood dvds have this as well

(... at least i think they do...) :-X
