I am not sure the correct name but I have one of those "AIR in a CAN" things that blows out under pressure air usually used for computer keyboards, etc.

I was blowing some dust particles off the camera last night. Is it safe to blow particles off the lens? I know some cameras have a protective shield in front of the actual lens. Do our cameras have that?

You need immediately a clear UV lens for protection against scratches...if you scratch your lens...you're SOL. Becareful of compressed air in a few ways, if you shoot dust into your camera cracks, etc. it won't be helpful, instead use a soft camel hair brush...go to a still camera photoshop and buy one of theirs, also get a microfiber cloth and lens paper as well as fluid. Comp air can and does leave a slight residue.

Yea I need to get a 72mm UV filter. I already have a 4x4 filter for when I shoot with the matte box. I also keep a small painter's brush in bag too. I am always cleaning my camera!!!
