Sorry, guys -- here comes another silly newbie question.
I've backed up some media files -- some QuickTime files -- to a data DVD. When I play the files on the data DVD to make sure they copied okay, the video plays correctly for a moment, then starts to stutter, and then freezes; the audio, however, keeps going. If I stop playback of the file, the frozen video image disappears and the correct video frame comes into view.
So it looks like the file is not corrupted; it looks like I'm just having playback issues. Is that true? Am I seeing the freezing and the stuttering because my system has to go out and retrieve the data from the DVD drive (I have a dual-processor G5 and a SuperDrive)?
How can I prove to myself that the files I've copied to the data DVD are okay? Do I have to copy the file(s) on the data DVD back to a "regular" external hard drive or my system drive and play them from there? Or is there an easier way to test them?
Thanks much.
