Does anyone know how to film at 6 frames per second with the DVX100A. This effect was used in STIR OF ECHOES, and I'd like to try this effect on a feature I'll be filming in the near future.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Jeff

I don't know if the camera has that option, but couldn't you film at 60 fps and then only keep every tenth frame?
Just a thought, if it's stupid don't be too cruel to me :-[

By the way, did you notice I am a "Gold Member" now? :D

Larry, that wouldn't work -- you wouldn't have the incredible blur that comes from shooting only 6 frames per second.
Yes the DVX100A (not the original 100) can shoot 6fps. Put the camera in 24p mode, switch to "slow shutter", and select a shutter speed of 1/6. You'll get exactly the effect you describe, six distinct frames per second (but recorded as 24 on tape).

Barry,
How do you select "slow shutter"?

Never mind, Barry. I went into the camera and figured it out. User 1, slow shut, 1/6.
Thanks again.
