I got begged by some friends to see this movie and I have one statement to make...

This is honestly the worst movie I have even seen.

If anyone else sees this(which they shouldn't) we can talk about the steaming pile of crap that is this movie.

I'm not so sure this is the worst movie. That would be "Pulse", the original japanese version. What a bizarre, weird, nonsensical piece of crap that was. Well, at least this time Hollywood stayed true to the original.

The original Kairo was most certainly not as you describe it:

a nonsensical piece of crap

Kiyoshi Kurosawa is one of the best in the horror game at building suspense and tension with simple shots and playing on the expectations of the audience.

Kairo was as i call it the only existential post-apocalyptic ghost story i know of.

I loved it and it was the only time since my childhood where something in a film actually scared me.

You didn't get it and that's fine it sure isn't for everyone but there was alot going on in that film and I for one think it was excellent.

Also calling something a "piece of crap" is a pretty ignorant way to review a movie.

But then I know I've used the same phrase in the past to describe some movies that I hated (i'll bet on this board too) so who am I to judge or criticize.

Nobody that's who.

I sure as hell will not be checking out this undoubtedly weak (and probably watered down) American piece of crap.

The first and last of this Japanese horror genre that I saw was JU-ON. What a steaming pile. I will no longer see the original Japanese or the crappy American remakes no matter how hot the American actresses are that are in them.

(I liked the first Ring, though. Ring... didnt see RINGU)
