How is Space Odyssey inspiring???

Confusing yes, beautiful yes, but I was anything but inspired after seeing it. How is Philadelphia inspiring - it's the complete opposite.

All AFI's lists are crap. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is by far one of the most overrated pieces of crap I've ever seen - The only list it belongs on is most anti-climatic endings.

I don't even think they had the Graduate listed on their did they? Not that I like the Graduate, but if they're going to put that other crap on their, you might as well put Graduate.

Totally agree AFI is complete crap, their movie lists are outdated, and few of the films listed are worth honorable mention anymore.

Indeed.

Check out their funniest films of all time...

The fact that The Big Lebowski is not on their is outrageous. Shame it gets no respect and is seen as a semi cultish potty humor flick - it's really deep if you look past the f'bombs, has great dialogue, and IMO kicks Fargo's ass.

Yet they have Fargo on the funniest list, about a friggin' murder case - never got that one - their accents are funny but the film is not and how do the put Raising Arizona over Big Lebowski?

And they put the Graduate as well - that is not a comedy at all - it has plenty of humorous, socially awkward moments, but damn - not a comedy overall.
