To all experts,

Let's say I use DVX with the HVX200 for stunt driving sequence (DVX in a rig on a car going fast -- chase scene -- I don't care if it breaks), I know the resolution is different, but which software is suitable ... Photozoom, Instant HD, or something else, if I need to match image from both cameras.

Also, the HD footage will be transferred to 35mm at Heavy Digital, for a theatrical release in South Asia.

Thank you.

I experimented with PhotoZoom a bit, comparing HVX DV50 to HVX HD. It came surprisingly close, but the problem was with edge enhancement -- if there's any edge enhancement in the source footage it'll be massively exaggerated in the resulting uprezzed HD footage.

Haven't tried DVX compared to HVX, I'll play around with that later but I don't know that it'll be in the same ballpark; DV50 vs. DV, and 16:9 vs. Squeeze, are both going to make a difference.

That said, if it's what you need to do, you'll probably be able to get away with it using InstantHD.

Barry,
Can you recommend a good hd to 35mm post house. Some place you probably used, or seen footages of.

Thank you.

I always give big props to Marcus van Bavel of www.dvfilm.com (http://www.dvfilm.com), I've had him run two transfers for me and he's great. You can actually see some HVX footage that's been transferred to film if you ask him for a copy of their demo reel (you need to leave a deposit so they get their film print back but they'll send the print anywhere).

There are lots more transfer houses out there; Swiss Effects has a good rep but last I knew they really weren't transferring 24p stuff, they seemed to prefer 50i for some reason. I also used 4MC in L.A. and they did a great job too.
