Nikon D70 . . . good price?

I just saw used D70 at B & H for $499....since I am extremely new to these Digital SLRs I have no idea if that is a fair price or not.

Any thoughts?

sounds pretty good. mine was about $799, new and just the body. I paid over a grand for my first for body and 18-70mm lens. but prices have dropped. here's a new one with lens:

You mean D70s right? S?

If it's in very good condition then yes... that's a good price. But for another hundred you're in the ballpark of new. I JUST bought my d70s body for $619... so you might want to bear that in mind. I expect to sell it for someplace between $400-$500 by February-ish... and get the D80.

It only says "D70" (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=800486044&is=USE&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation), but perhaps it was a typo, I don't know.

I actually was hoping to pick up a used, perhaps D50, for even less than the $499. I don't really have the money to buy new (thought I'd love to), but still want to "get in the game". Hopefully the D80 release will make some used D50's available at a price I can more comfortably afford. :keeping-fingers-crossed smilie:
