Hello all,

I am the director of cinematography and editor of a short film called Just Desserts. We have put together a website with a teaser trailer to showcase the film for publicity purposes:

http://www.justdessertsmovie.1go.dk

This is a scene from the film which is a dream sequence.

The film is shot on a Canon XM2 and edited on Final Cut Pro 5. The trailer is Quicktime Sorenson Video 3 Codec and is 19Mb.

Would love to get some feedback about the teaser trailer.

Cheers,

Really very nice looking images. The colors were very rich. What sort of color correction or filters did you use?

Thanks mate!

I used FCP's colour corection with different whith each of the scenes. Mixed with that "slight" diffusion to soften the image a bit in the dream part, selective colour glow selected on the whites to accentuate the highlights, also i created my own blur filter to throw out the edges abit and make it into that dream feeling.. it's a cliche I know but hey... it looks nice. I also made a white matte in Photoshop and exported it into FCP and blended it in, this gives that white diffused/blooming edge.

On CC now: in the bed scene I just basically saturated the image, and left it at that. In the horse part i tinted the image into yellow for a warm summer feeling and brought out the organe in the image in the CC. In the Lake part, I corrected towards the blue/ green. Added more saturation here too as the orginal footage had a lot of depth, but little colour.

And finally de-interlaced in Magic Bullet.

Nice shots man. The GL2 never seems to quit impressing me. I was going to get one because of its better bang for the buck but I decided against it since I had the money to get something better. Never the less awesome footage.
