weird thing just happen

shot 720 24pn
did some intitial testing, a clip played back directly in QT -- looks brilliantly tack sharp
then same clip played in fcp (dvcpro HD 720, 23.98) looks soft

i shot with the m2. flipped the image using flop or 180degree turn in fcp.

trying to think what could be causing this. I even exported the soft clip to play it back in QT directly -- same softness. BUT the clip played in QT directly is sharp.
any clues?

Is the clip rendered? Is your playback set to full quality?

yep,. canvas and viewer for some reason show variant levels of sharpness

Thats the way FCP works. With FCP HD that sharpness will vary depending on CPU power. The default setting for playback quality and Framerate is "Dynamic". You can change the setting in the RT pulldown in the TImeline. The viewer in FCP is just a proxy. The quicktime file will always show how the clip actually looks.
