I was just playing this flip book tutorial concept in relation to the Marvel Intro. I didn't have the film to reference but here is what I came up with...

http://www.videocopilot.net/calvin_animation.mov (http://www.videocopilot.net/calvin_animation.mov)

Here is the project file if anyone's interested,
http://www.videocopilot.net/calvin.zip (http://www.videocopilot.net/calvin.zip)

The video I used is just a sequence of stills from various Calvin and Hobbes wallpapers lasting one frame each. It might be an interesting concept for perhaps a furniture store or something with various products...

I know there is more to the Marvel Intro, but I thought I'd share...

The tutorial if you don't know is here, number 16

Best,
Andrew

That looked really nice. Plus I love calvin and hobbes which makes it even better. But I agree that it would be great for a business with multiple products.

That's really cool. I downloaded the file, but it told me I coulnd't open it without version 7. :(

Can you save that as a version 6 compatible file? Or, are there some effects that 6 doesnt have that you need?

That's my main gripe with 7. There's no way to save out a v6 file that's backwards compatible. What a pain.

Let me see what I can do to save it in 6.5...

Thanks for checking it out, it makes me want to post up other things too.

Best,
Andrew

Okay...
I recreated the project in After Effects 6.5

The time-remapping is a little differn't because of the track editor in 7, so it's not exactly the same but pretty close.

looks spot on as usual andrew. :) One thing i would love to see you tutorialize is an advanced color correction tutorial. In the official adobe learning series books they have one, but its kinda jank. (they use a still image) I would love to see one with a 5-10 second clip
