I have a lead on a timely story that would be great for someone to cover.

My friend Charles is a Lebanese comic actor who recently followed his dream and traveled to Hollywood to participate in a one-month acting workshop. Charles is young, but he’s done some sit-com work back home, and is very well known in Lebanon.

When the recent war erupted, Charles found himself unable to go back home to his family and friends. (It's literally impossible for him to get back into the country.) He’s trying to make the best of it, but obviously he’s been placed in a difficult situation. He’s presently living in LA on a day-to-day basis.

Charles is a talented actor with a fun sense of humor and excellent comic timing. He makes a great interview, projects well on TV, etc. His is a human interest story that relates to the recent Middle East conflict in a manner that’s NOT divisive or political. There's no political agenda here whatsoever. This is just the tale of one person (a very funny person) who’s been affected.

Somewhere in LA (or for that matter, in the national media) there's a journalist who'd like to tell Charles's story. If anyone has any contacts they’d like to share, please post here, or send me a private message, or email me at seanmichael@aol.com.

best of luck to him. all politics aside, it is very sad to see a nation and its people torn apart.

Agreed.

I had a beer with Charles last night. He told me that since he was a child growing up in Lebanon, he always dreamed of going to Hollywood. Now that he's finally here for his first visit, he can't go back home! So he's trying to make the best of it.

His goal is to someday receive an Academy Award. He does remind me of a Lebanese Roberto Benigni . . . :)
