P2 viewer

Am I doing something wrong? When the camera is hooked up to my computer I can get the p2 viewer to play clips from the p2 card, but it wont play p2 files I have moved to my computer. One other little thing, is it normal for each time you start the p2 viewer for it to take 5 minutes loading clips, even though I don't have any.

I don't think 5 minutes loading clips is normal for the P2 Viewer. It takes more like 3 seconds or so for me.

To play clips from your hard drive, you need to set up virtual P2 cards. It's under Tools, I believe. Then you need to make sure that you are actually viewing what you mounted. Not the most intuitive interface but you'll figure it out if you poke around a bit more.

Yes I found the P2 viewer to be a real pain in the ass when it came to viewing P2 cards copied over to the laptop. Sussed it out in the end but what a kerfuffle.

my p2 viewer took five minutes to boot, and someone else here pointed out it had something to do with the built in card readers in my tower- it was trying to read stuff that wasn't there.. Disable the card readers and I was in business.

Thanks for the help guys. as long as I know it aint supposed to be that way I don't mind spending the time fiddling around until I get it right. If they ever come out with a book "hvx for retards" I'll be sure to reserve one.
