I'm looking to do a replication effect on a person, much like the opening of the new Freddie Prince Jr. show, Freddie. (Judge based on the effect, not the show)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmvmwFGYtng (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmvmwFGYtng)

It takes a little time to load and comes in around 5:00 minutes.

Can someone tell me how they achieved this or even a similar technique I could use?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1. Shoot a clean plate camera locked off (not moving)- no actor
2. Shoot actor
3. Shoot same actor in different position
4. Roto actors into your clean plate

Hope that helps

I actually know that already. But I'm just concerned about how clean everything is going to be, especially if the duplicate subjects interact.

I'm actually going to try this interesting method I thought of:
It involves taking one long take of the subject and then splitting the clip in half right where he isn't moving for about 5-10 seconds. Then I plan on putting one of those halves in reverse on top of the other and rotoscoping.

My friend and I are running some tests. We'll see how it turns out.
