SFX Help - Black and White world with object in Colour

Hey everybody I've got a question that is special effects related.

Does anybody know ways to take a shot of a man walking down a street that is black and white, yet the man is in colour?

Similar to bank commercials I've seen.

I think its called "Selective Colouring" or something along those lines. Is there a simple way to do this other than frame by frame editing?

Put two copies of the same footage on top of each other. Desaturate the bottom footage. Then use the pen tool to draw a mask around the man. Then keyframe the mask as the man moves so that it stays on his outline.

uh how do I keyframe a mask?

Im somewhat new to after effects :(

Keyframe the "Mask Shape".

Select the layer and hit "M" and it will show that parameter.
