Hi all, I wasn't able to jump into the last contest, becasue I have been contracted out to do some photo enhancemnt for a Local State park. Here are some before and afters. Feel free to tell me what you think, there are some that I feel are "pushed", but I'm not going to say which. :) I didn't take these.
It's my first PAYING gig doing Photo Enhancement/Manipulation. I'm quite excited as it may lead to doing graphics for their video, and then Video and Photography, DVD, all sorts of things.

Sky replacements proved more problematic than I would have first thought. Ha!
Comments and crits are of course welcome.
Thank you for looking.

In the 1st "after" photo....bring your levels down, the building is washed out...

That part of the picture is one of the few parts untouched by either Curves or Levels.
There is a small degree of desaturation, but that's it.
Thanks for the potential heads up though, I may choose to put some levels on it to bring out some mids.

I like what you've done. Nothing, wild. Subtle changes to enhance the natural beauty. Most times, less is more. Good job.

They all look great... but to give you my .02... which is actually worth less then .01
I like them in this order 2,3,4, then 1.
To me 2 and 3 look totally natural... 4 and 1 look good too... but to my eye 2 and 3 look undetectably altered if a PS expert never saw the originals.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure about the sky replactment, overcast WV is not appealing, but I don't want it to come off fake.
Any input is good input.

Liked them. They all appeared natural to me, esp since you won't see the originals.

they all look good but the sky on #1 looks like it was taken from a different angle or something. it doesn't look real....

If you do not see the original, sky #1 looks believable. It is true that there is a slight perspective discrepancy with the clouds at the horizon (common problem with artificial clouds). And the reflection from the bay end at left does not match the sky...
These are things only a (semi)pro might notice after some prompting...
Good job!

Thanks for the input all. I reworked the perspective of the sky on 1 and backed it way down. It's lookin better. I'll post some of the finsihed ones when I can. Gotta get through all the first drafts though .

2nd (half rez 3 main revisions) draft on the arial. I think I'm about done. Frankly, after multiple revisions and such easy ( :zombie_smiley: ) things as removing the main parking lot, I've had about enough.

The horrific .jpg artifacts and banding was there from the start, but at this quality, it is even more pronounced.
I've looked at this for long enough. :)

That is amazing and great results on the element removal... A skill I still do not understand let alone possess.

Looks great!! The only thing that struck me odd (and maybe it's just nitpicking since it's already far off the chart better than I could do) is the path that used to lead to the parking lot now leading directly to a tree. Perhaps if you could modify the path, or the trees, so the path goes between the trees it might solve the problem.
But, of course, feel free to ignore all that...it's just me trying to be nit-picky since I can't come close to doing what you just did

Thanks guys.
I noticed that path, but I'm not sure someone who doesnt see the original would, and to be honest, i don't wanna play with that pic any more. Unless the guy says he want's another revision, this is one done pup.

So, what you are saying is that you want to deliver a less than perfect image, is that what I'm hearing? Does anyone else hear this?
HA HA J/K  It's great and I'm sure they'll love it.

Around 6 hours of work. Much of it all in one sitting.
First draft, I'm not happy with the trees in the upper right yet, or the new field in the left, and frankly don't see the need for all this damn parking lot removal, but who am I to asky why?
The road leading out is out of whack, I'll have to takle the perspective on that tonight.
