Everytime I try to hook up an external mic into my DVX, I can't seem to get any sound out of the mic. I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong, I've changed the Line/Mic switches, and played with menu controls for audio recording. I hope nothings wrong with my XlR's.

help meeeee.

Are you switching the channel 1 and 2 select switches to correspond with the input of your xlr mic?

Also check to see if its battery powered or if it needs phantom power.

Is the volume set to minimum?

If your mics require phantom power, make sure you have the 48 volts switch to "on." And check which inputs your meters and headphones are monitoring - 1&2, or 3&4.
