View Full Version : Video shaking effect (a la Requiem for a Dream)

Hey, I was wondering if anybody knew how to recreate an effect used in the movie Requiem for a Dream. It was in the scene towards the end where Marlon Wayans' character was screaming in his jail cell and the picture shook exactly with the intensity of his voice.

I recall hearing something in the audio commentary about using a program that matched the shake to the actual wave forms of the audio track.

Anybody know what I'm talking about or know how that could be achieved in AE? Like a plug-in or something?

Thanks.

There's a tutorial on my site covering an expression based camera shake:

To achieve your effect, add a little echo on an Adjustment Layer, maybe.

CC Time Blend FX can be pretty trippy as well. Although, the only advice I can give is to "play with it", as that's all I have done.
