Hi,
I have some footage of mine that's on DVD and I can't seem to find the right DVD ripping software to extract it. I'm tired of searching myself so I figure I would ask you, the DVX forum for help.

Thanks,
Andrei

If you're on a mac (not sure about PC), Cinematize has always worked for me. Very easy if you're working with a non-copyright protected DVD.

I've gotten stuff back that I've shot from Clients on a DVD and extract it as a .mov file to import into Final Cut. I think there are options to export to other formats as well that may suit your needs differently.

best dvd ripping software for PC i have found is "clone dvd"

for Mac: MacTheRipper
and then: Popcorn - if you want to take those dual layer DVD's that you ripped with MacTheRipper, and back them up onto single layer discs...

If your trying to clone the DVD on a mac then you can just copy it (I'm assuming this is not a commercial DVD). To pull out bits "MPEG Streamclip" works well.

Do you have Toast? If so, you should be able to rip a dvd to a .dv file using this program.

Mac the ripper, for dvd riping (free) Mpeg streamclip for extracting parts from a dvd vob files and such ( free) and Toast , i recommend toast because its easy. .. its got a nice autocompression that does a pretty good job if you buy the cheep dvds.
