can you use AYDVM83MQ tapes in dvx100a?

You could, but the manual recommends against it so I wouldn't. Others have reported that they've done it though; it does seem like it'll probably be more susceptible to tape jamming/wrinkling because the 83-minute tapes are thinner than the regular ones.
