I finnally figured out why my laptop took 4 min to reconize my p2 card when trying to import footage. I would go to P2 Select and it would take 4 min for the clips to show up.
I decided to try the arrow icon that removes all the usb hard drives before you disconnect the drives....... (Dont remove the Panosonic)...
Vialo.... The P2 select showed up "fasto"
I have lived with this S*&^%&* for 9 months. and "sometime you can't see the forest for the trees"

P2 Select scans all media. I suspect there's some kind of timeout when trying to access inaccessible media. Removable drives in Windows have some weird flagging wrt whether there's something there or not.

It's one of those things where you mistakenly do it with an other way and you realize that you lived blind all your life. Anyway is P2 DVCPRO support in Edius 4 demo in?

The current EDIUS version 4 demo is EDIUS Pro version 4, not EDIUS Broadcast.
We're working to get an EDIUS Broadcast version 4 demo up.

Nevertheless, I believe this would be a smart decision, right now the pro-codecs editing capabilities of Broadcast are such a unique selling point - at least for europe...
I just cannot believe that PP and FCP won´t be HVX100E ready until IBC - europeans still like to riot in the streets ;o)

Thats for sure Spartacus...!:kali: ..but i hope that edius will be our solution, but i agree that it would be interesting to know when there will be the demo of broadcast 4...heard not before august...right or wrong bhiga..??

Well, since the engineers are about 5000 miles away, not exactly huge, but I am pretty vocal, heh.
How long would this take?
Not sure on this. Depends on a critical decision by engineering and product management. We're pushing for ASAP on this end, but like I said, the 5000 mile thing makes it a little easier to forget about us.
...heard not before august...
Well, considering that today is the last day before August, I would say this is correct!

So... I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I won't be surprised either.
