I've got a brand new d70s and I feel just a tad sick... must control desire for new cam... must resist... Hulk maaaad!

It's nice and I like it, but I'm still more than happy with my D50 as it does everything I need it to do.
Maybe in a year or so when I feel like I am outgrowing the 6.1 MP of the D50 then an upgrade will hold merit, but for right now, I just don't feel like I need it. Funny thing is, I don't even want it that bad... Now put up some pictures of some nice glass and that's a whole other story.

Sooner or later you gotta' get a flash dude... even if it's the sb-600 you gotta' get one.
In the spirit of you suggestion for this week's photos... what does a lens do?
It collects and focuses light.
To put it another way... think of "glass" as in water glasses... you can get a really cool glass, and you can find water... but if you could carry around something that made water wouldn't that glass be more valuable?
r.e. the D80... I'm going to buy a second flash before I get anything else... I'll probably be in the D80 market by next spring... maybe.
It's doubtful that I'll have a second flash prior to the 31st... but you can count on my submission using the flash I've got now.

Matt, have you experimented with slave flashes yet?
You can pick up cheapo, crappy ones for thirty bucks with which you can produce EXCELLENT stuff. I have a few that aren't easy to position, so I am about to get a couple of these:

Oh, and by the way: that D80 looks sweeeeet!

I know I have to get into flash, but right now it is not in the budget. New glass isn't in the budget either.
That camera is nice, but right now, that's not in the budget...
Lunch is coming up soon... That's not in the budget either.

  I like the buildup to the last statement... now that's funny. You know me well enough by now that you should realize my obsessive nature... sooner or later I fear that I'll be able to take my own Joey Lawrence style shots of homeless people... and self portraits... at the same time.
Vidled... sockets arrived last night... but instead of the extra bits which make them 2-3 piece sockets a bag of samples which says "other part ordered is no longer available... choose from these"... so today I decide the "trim" of the socket... probably will order 2 different styles... anyway... sockets on the way soon. :)
How does this fit into a d80 thread? Hell how does flash fit into one? All I know is that cheap cam lighting is just around the corner.

I see the Nikon-Europe pictures are gone... well we know for certain that it's about the size of the d50... maybe slightly bigger.
