I didnt know where to post so I'm posting it here. I am making a short video for a chocolate factory. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make or knows where i can get more info please let me know. I am trying to make an opening title. I was thinking the screen blank with chocolate and then the chocolate kind of breaks and flies everywhere and behind it i have the opening title "Chocolate Printing Company"....so my question is where can i get a 3d chocolate bar exploding.

in a 3D app?:D
Possibly...

With a well placed firecraker, Hershey's bar, and a high speed camera.

you can use any real explosion matte as a luminance matte to do a reveal, but you might also wanna just get a piece of white chocolate (or something of the equivilant) light it against a black background and film it exploding via firecracker.
Or, you are looking at hard body dynamics. Exploding things in a random fashion is one of the easier things to do in a 3D app, when it comes to dynamics.

Hehe... I've never had a client that really liked seeing their product 'broken' as part of their promotional materials. You sure they're sold on this?

Sounds like something you'd find in Wonka's chocolate factory, the exploding chocolate bar. Might be easier to have the chocolate be "eaten" away with several large bite marks. Just a thought.

Bites would appear to be an easier 'sell'.

Film a chocolate bar and apply shatter plugin with little gravity. It will take about 2 minutes to achieve the effect you want.
Check the cow's Ben Ungrim shatter tutorial.

You could get a pic of the chocolate bar then use the AE shatter effects and tweak the gravity and stuff to make it look good. I'm thinking that wouldn't look very real though. Just a thought...
