Just when you thought Hero Fest was over, we (Larry R and I) bring you

… to recognize and thank our composers, give them a chance to tout themselves as "award winning" (though most of theme must be already), and give them a chance to take something tangible home with them as they have donated their talents and made such palpable contributions to our work (Due to technical reasons the final tallies the Score/Best Original Music column on the original ballots are irretrievable.)

Jarred has also expressed his gratitude to the composers by allowing the results of this vote to be counted as official and by committing to the including a Best Original Music or Score category in Horror Fest.

1st Prize is a Gift Card to Guitar Center.
This prize is member sponsored. As of the last update, the pot is at $150.
If you would like to contribute to the pot, then click here :) (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=jdanstan%40live%2dtheater%2eorg&item_name=Hero%20Fest%3a%20Composer%20Fest%20Gift% 20Card%21&no_shipping=2&no_note=1&tax=0&currency_code=USD&lc=US&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF&charset=UTF%2d8)
EDIT: woohoo ($140 is up from $80 in just one day!)

Voting will take place by using the DVXuser.com Poll Feature.
You must have registered as a user before today’s 7/22/06 date to vote.
Because only 10 choices are allowed on a poll there will be three heats or threads. The film with the most votes in all three Heats will be declared the winner.
The Threads will be left up for 2 weeks from today 7/22/06 unless there are less than 50 votes, then they will be left up longer.
Vote in one heat only. In other words vote only in heat 1, 2, OR 3, not in1, 2, AND 3. Not sure why you would want to but it will muddle the results.
To be eligible to win, the majority of the film's soundtrack must contain original music written expressly for the film (not stock music or found music). To avoid the need for a revote, however, all films have been included in "Composer Fest" so as not to accidentally exclude anyone who does in fact have original music but didn't list a composer for some reason. If a film that does not meet the above critertia wins, then the award will default to the film with the next highest vote count which does meet the criteria.HEAT ONE (this thread)

Hey Jack - Texture just alerted me to this. Great idea.

But in relation to Bucketman (may he rest in pieces), the licences for all the the music were purchased from Twisted Tracks. So in order to give tribute to the "real composers" out there who had hands-on for these individual entries and out of some alien sense of fairness, please remove Bucketman from the list.

I wouldn't want that one vote it might receive from some misguided, inebriated member (now THERE'S a name for a band ...) to deprive someone else of a more appropriate victory.
