animated GIFs

I am actually using fireworks but I didn't know where else to post this question. I am trying to make an animated gif where each fram is 1/100th of a second. When i try to export the GIF (where you set the time value for each frame it is by defualt set to 7/100th of a second and when i try to change it to 1/100th it lets me and shows me the proper preview but when i actually save teh file it seems as if it changed it back to 7/100th or simply a slower rate. Anyone know anything about this?

not a fireworks user myself, I know you can easily change the time in ImageReady for each frame, or all at once by shift selecting.

I figured out already that it is a limitation of GIF's...very frustrating because the programs still have the data that its fast but when previewing using windows applications atleast it slows it down making it choppy
