If you want full frame you need to spend the big bucks.

Considering I bought 3 lenses that would be null with full-frame I'm glad it's not there yet!
My next cam will probably stay with me for a few years... hell my current one might. I opted for the 3-year warranty.
I may keep my d70s or I may sell it by next spring and upgrade then. The best thing to do is wait for the dust to settle and see what people really make of it. Expect it to be a slightly stripped down d200... which would be good enough for me... but bgundu says no more 1/500 flash sync... so who knows... as I'm contemplating a second sb-800 flash I'm thinking maybe I'll just stay with the d70s until I feel limited by it... which will take a while.
The best thing said is that a new cam available won't make the cam you now own suddenly take bad pictures.
If the replacement is well-received and the price is right for me... and I can make the transition without too much aggravation... then eventually I'll do that, but it's not a high priority. I'm ecstatic with the results I'm getting now.
If you would like to see your current Nikon become twice as good as you thought it was then buy a flash or two. I guarantee a d50 with an sb-800 on board and a sb-600 or 800 out in the shot will give you better pictures for the extra cost of the d80. Light is everything and until it isn't you have to bring your own.
I'm excited about the new cam and I can't wait to see what they've come up with... but it won't make me regret the purchase that I just made.

I'm in the same boat as Matt. I am really excited and curious about this new camera, I think that it could combine the D70s 's commander features, second command dial, and lit LCD screen with the image quality of the D50, plus the image size of the D200. That would make for a kick ass camera, but no one knows about the price point and I'm guessing Nikon will most likely go for something in the ballpark of $1000 - $1300 body only. That's not a bad price when you compare to the D200, but ultimately I'm happy with my D50 and don't feel like upgrading for a long time. Even when I do upgrade I will most likely keep my D50 and just get it modified and turned into an IR camera... that would be bad ass.

Im with Matt also. No regrets at all with my purchase, even with my job paying for it all :)
But i am excited to see what they are going to do with this model. And like Matt said, and i always do this, imma let the dust settle then MAYBE buy the body only and give my D50 to my little bro :)
