Well, the lens thread is purring along quite nicely now so I thought I'd address my next major concern, camera support.
There were many suggestions about this during the contest but I'd like to take it back to basics. If you own a RED you need a few more goodies to effectively get out and shoot. Since storage is still a little ambigous let's keep this thread to things you can either screw, bolt or clamp on to the camera.
What I own from my HVX/DVX system that can be used with RED:
Vinten Vision 6 and 2 stage tripod legs.
Chrosziel 41150 mattebox
Schneider 4x4 True Pol, .3 & .6 NDs .3, .6 and .9 ND Grads.
Panasonic BTLH-900a 8.5" HD mointor w/HDSDI
What I can see myself needing:
Follow focus, really don't know which one yet. But I will probably get the Redrock focus gears for still lenses no matter what.
A Red Tri handle cage with somesort of shoulder support.
I think the body will have rod support but I'm not sure, so if not I'll have to have another custom bridge plate machined.:crybaby:
Eventually I'd like a heavy duty head and sticks ala Oconnor' HD.
Some sort or zoom motor may be necessary but also may fall under the "Rent it" category
Laser Rangefinder, this is easy to get, probably the Hilti, it's got an optical sight.
lens supports?
Any other thoughts?

The support I would like to talk about is the camrea body its self. I know Oakley stands firm behind there products. Will the same hold true with RED? Like a program to loan you a replacement camera, while yours in for warranty work? A good support network. Fast turn around times. And a knowledgeable staff to help with any problems. :) RED #334

JTmoney, you're referencing a completely different subject than evinsky. "Camera support" is bridge plates, rods, cages, tripods, fluid heads, etc., so you're comments are really off-topic.
But with reference to your comments, are you familiar with the saying "the best indicator of future behaviour is past behavior"? Jim Jannard and Oakley have an except reputation. The most valuable thing we have in life is our reputation. Jim Jannard's "past behavior" shows that he is unlikely to risk his reputation by offering a shoddy RED product or inadequate level of technical support and service. There is abundant evidence to the contrary. The man obviously takes huge pride in whatever he does and is determine to make RED a success. I have already read comments he has made on subject of technical support. He considers it hugely important. The level of service RED offers is, of course, up to the company and will evolve with time, but there is no evidence whatsoever that it will anything other than first rate. Why would you think otherwise? In any event, if RED has not addressed your concerns or you have any doubts about this when it's time to pay for your RED #334, don't buy it and take back your deposit. The refundable deposit is further evidence of RED's good faith as far as I'm concerned. Right now RED is designing and developing the product itself, the additional details will no doubt be revealed in due course as the delivery date approaches.

However its still valid. I made no mention or insinuation of poor support what so ever. I dont know where you get that! Unless you work for RED, I doubt you can answer them kind support questions. Some how you take my post as a personal attack on Jim Jannard's character. Nothing farther from the truth! I have no concerns or reservations about buying the Red camrea! More over are you familiar with the saying " The only stupid question is the one not asked" So take a breath we should be on the same side here....Proud to be in line at #334 What's your number Friend?

ha ha love is in the air.
I wouldnt question the service support area of RED.. Obviously Jim has a worldwide support network built around oakley and im sure he will use a few tidbits of the knowledge he gained there to pick a few key companies around the globe to make sure you arn't left in the dark if something goes wrong.
As or Evins Support comments... maybe he can start a new thread called RED Accessories.. maybe people will understand that a little better, although he is completely correct calling it support.

I don't know if the body will have rod support ,If not perhaps the cage would be a good place for built in rod support. Kind of like the the first models shown, people asking where are the buttons and so on. I think red will take care of that one.
Hay Greg, You bet we are friends. I count on you and others that know a hell of alot more than I do, especially when it comes to 35mm stuff
