I just formated one of my two disks on my computer, and everything seems to work fine - except for one important little ting: I can't play video!:furious3:

I've installed both VLC, WMM and QT, and they all just slow the system down to a silent death when I try to play any video file. I can view images and listen to music just fine. I have all the codecs I used to have installed before, video card drivers and sound drivers.

I really can't figure out what's going on, and it's driving me nuts.:(

Anyone here who can help me out on this one?

Rebuild your system, Ghost it immediately, and create a bootable DVD with the image. When you have a nagging problem, like Quicktime, a re-image puts your system back in order in less than 15 minutes and a reboot. I recently had a cluster-f**k issue with Quicktime, and my trusty image saved the day. Just make sure you backup any files first!
The days of troubleshooting for an hour or two are gone. Who has time to waste on that?

Being in IT, I used to spend a long time fixing such problems, and I don't care to waste my own time on such endeavors.

VLC is a great program, but if your Quicktime support is trashed, there is often no way to fix it. The last time it happened, I couldn't use any Quicktime-dependent application, even iTunes.

if you think Quicktime is bad on Windows... try using Windows Media Player on a Mac...

dear lord.... the humanity of it all!

The funny thing is that video seems to work totally fine without Service Pack 2 for XP, but with SP2, it doesn't. Strange, huh?

And I need SP2.

Oh, and I HATE windows. :( Can't someone make Vegas for Linux?!

service pack is the devil, when ever i instal it on Window, it crashed Vegas.Thats because you need to Reinstall .NET Framework for Vegas to work with SP2.
