offloading p2 into powerbook

Hey all,

how many of you are offloading p2 into a powerbook and is it working smoothly for you? I remember some people had issues in the past but couldn't establish whether it was a minority. Im producing a 4 camera shoot and will cycle full cards through a powerbook.

How long does it take to copy a p2 8gb card direct to a powerbook?
Are there any workflow issues I need to know about with this path?

Hey Richard,
I've been using 4GB cards and offloading into a 1.67 GHz Powerbook with no problems. Just remember when you want to eject the card, first make sure you drag the P2 card icon on your desktop to the trash -or- highlight it and hit apple-E to eject it off the desktop. Wait a few seconds before physically popping the P2 card out of the powerbook. (some users reported kernel panics when ejecting their P2 card too suddenly).

Offloading a 4GB card (to the internal drive) takes about 5 min 40 secs on my Powerbook.
