Huge Contact Lenses or Massive Pupils

You know, that weird looking effect? I saw it in Buffy the Vampire slayer (don't ask) and a few other movies.

Where can you get those contacts? I figured you could probably pull the effect off digitally, but it seems so much easier to do it with a set of contact lenses for the actor/actress.

Anyone know?

I think it probably is a good idea to have a tech there as well. That's what happens in Hollywood anyway. A special tech shows up to put them in and monitor what is happening with the actor's eyes. You wouldn't want to take a chance on damaging someone's eyes. Or maybe you would, I don't know.

I hope this is not too late. About 10 years ago, a friend of mine did a test with some normal soft contacts. He just added a couple of drops of red food coloring to the solution in the contact case and left them overnight. The next day the contacts were nice and red - looked pretty creepy. I have no idea if this is safe or anything.
