I know that this forum is for HVX footage but I thought that this would be a good place to compare some footage I shot in SD using Sony's wierd slow shutter filmlook. Setting the shutter to 30 and losing half the vertical resolution.

The footage by no means compares with the quality of the HVX200 stuff I've seen but might be enjoyed by anyone wanting to see Crater Lake or some scenic areas in southern Oregon.

Any comments, anyone?

If not for the faked filmlook, how about the quality of voicework done by an Oregon State Representative who used to be a radio DJ. I thought his voice was fantastic for documentary style narrative.

My apologies for not posting HVX footage as I would love to do so when the opportunity arises.

Hey John,
I thought it was pretty sweet.
Have you ever thought about reshooting it all when you get your HVX?
Makes me want to take a trip up there! :)

John, not many are going to comment, becusae this is the HVX footy forums,. and there have been MANY this week alone posting NON-hvx footy, and to be honest and blunt, no-one wants to see anything BUT HVX or higher camera HD footy.

There is another section that you can post in for other cameras, which I'm sure that's where this post is heading.

Agreed that this is not the proper forum to show this footage.

I mostly wanted to give n8ture the opportunity to see something we had discussed previously -- and by the way, n8ture, yes, I have really thought about getting some good shots of Crater Lake when I finally do get the HVX. Thanks for the comment. That's my home country back there if you ever need a wilderness guide :)

And now, you're in Findlay. Good times!

John,

did you use 1/30 shutter? or the full progressive 15 fps, like the one on trv-900?

nice btw

Thanks Phally

I used the 1/30 shutter. It loses half of the vertical resolution that way but :( oh well

Didn't this cam advance to the "Sony DCR VX2100" ??
