Imagine shooting the game in one wide shot with RED and projecting it on a massive screen.
You could have special showings in specialized theaters and watch the game as if you were there.
Anyway, I have my jersey on... hopping on the train in a few and going to Philly to meet my commpatriots.
Et UN et DEUX et TROIS ZERO!

Shooting at 60fps should have been very useful for slow motion replay for yesterday's match featuring Portugal and chrsitiano ronaldo that has spent more time falling then playing.
I remember one replay slow motion of christiano ronaldo falling (i don not know the word in english " cheating" ?) again and again, waiting for the referre to say : "FAULT" !!!!
Anyway, 720p 50 was good enough to see that player cheating all the game !!!
french are chauvinistic ? no way !!!!!!!!

Frederich, vous êtes un homme heureux pour aller à l'allumette de football de Coupe Du Monde ! S'amuser, et la bonne chance en France !
(I speak only a small amount of French, but I do know where to find online translation services!)
RED at 2K Windowed, with S35 lens format, at 120 fps would have been sweet for the World Cup coverage...

When are the French going to give up the SECAM format? Will they have SECAM HD? (Iraq has SECAM too, I think that is where they went wrong.)
"the introduction of different HD formats from each manufacturer has created another layer of complexity to the editing workflow, as has the many HD delivery options available (HD DVD, HD broadcast, film, Web, etc.). Each format and delivery option requires a customized workflow that is critical to maintaining the quality of the project from start to finish."

Lets hope the smart people on the RED team will make a 4k format that everyone will adopt. Maybe us Americans should have adopted the French 755i. Oh well, too late now.
"French 755i
When Europe resumed TV transmissions after WWII, i.e. in the late-1940s and early-1950s, different countries used different resolutions. The UK used 405 lines, most other countries 625 lines (both numbers include the vertical gap, the actual resolutions were lower), but France decided in 1948 to go for 819 lines. The French TV system thus became the world's first HDTV system, and, by today's standards, the French system could be called 755i (not all lines could be used for the actual image — some lines were lost during the vertical retrace). The French 819-line (or 755i) HDTV system was introduced in the 1950s. When, in the late-1960s, a second TV channel and color TV were introduced in Europe, the UK dropped its 405-line TV system (completely in 1985) and France dropped its 819-line system (again, with final transmissions from Paris in 1985), making all European countries agree to use 625 lines (576i) for their TV transmissions.
The French "755i" 819-line HDTV system was used in only France, Belgium and Monaco, and in France only for the first French TV channel. It was discontinued in 1986. It was used only for black-and-white TV; color TV in 819-line SECAM never went beyond the experimental stage. It was transmitted only on VHF channels, and a French 819-line TV channel occupied 14 MHz of bandwidth. The system was therefore not PAL, SECAM or CCIR 601-derived."

Anyway, great game, worthy of a world cup final, and both teams proved they were the best. Quite a show!

btw, to see that blue shirt on zizoo it seems like to see.. the french team where only three players (among the eleven) were or are from non-african origin.. i thought france is an european country, so an european team, but after this match i'm not sure anymore..
mais.. pas des confusions.. j'aime les filles françaises, from non-european origin aussi!.. including those with that french look even abroad.. surtout in america.. :Drogar-Love(DBG):

Blue people, I beg your apologizes but my heart was red and green. Portugal was the best team. And Figo, Deco or Cristiano Ronaldo, one of them might be the best player.
Ronaldo (the portuguese) was considered the second best young player. Not for the public that considered him the best. But unfairly for the FIFA jury. They wished give the prize to a german player.
Last but not least, that is, editing: And I'm not portuguese. Only a soccer/football lover.
.... the french team where only three players (among the eleven) were or are from non-african origin.. i thought france is an european country, so an european team, but after this match i'm not sure anymore..
Maybe the French finally got overtaken by all those colonies.....:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
Too bad they lost though, Italy tends to slow down the game. France vs Brasil was the real finals in my opinion, no offense to the E.A.Poe movies actor....
btw,
the french football team reminds me of a team with Dream prefix in it...
:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)(again)
Allthough I miss the Real Dream Team from the 90's.....:crybaby:

heureux pour aller à l'allumette de football
Gibby, you said you translated the above with online translation services. Beware of them because above you are talking about a football match but there are two meanings to the word "match" you have a football game and a match that you strike to light your cigarette. The automatic translation above gave you the latter in French.
Anyway nice try.
As for the final, France really dominated Italy who were absolutely exhausted for most of the second half. So Italy were lucky but the worse was Zidane getting the red card after reacting to a very serious insult from an Italian player. Why let you or your family be cruelly insulted by a total jerk and not react just because you're on a football pitch? I think Zidane's reaction might even be positive for the game and might help to weed out and punish that kind of insulting behaviour. Allez Zizou!!
