How will metadata be comprised within the RED system? As in scene, take numbers, comments, and other information that accompanies the Digital Footage. Will this be included in the RED ONE System when it comes out in early 2007? A simple yes will take some stress off of my shoulders..

I don't think you'll get a definitive answer to either of those questions yet. The specs haven't been finalized. Handling metadata ia a "biggie" item for most of us though...

By a "biggie", I mean that metadata will be imortant to the workflow. Whether we're working in cine-style projects or ENG-style projects, to have metadata available can be very important. Metadata should also be important for multiple camera setups, reproduction of shots, etc.

Is RED addressing the use of metadata? The short answer is "yes", from RED development team member Stuart English. Has the features of RED's use of metadata been finalized and published? No.

yes metadata is important now adays.. much more than even a few years ago. Im pretty confident as well that RED will incorporate some sort of Metadata Structure.
