Consumer products really annoy me as it must most of you becasue am so firmiliar working with the higher end stuff. When my mother asks me to get her anice camera for under 200 i am totally lost. Everything looks the same and i cant seem to choose betwen the brands. Basically i narrowed it down to 2 choices either the canon powershot a520/a530 (i dont really see a diffrence in these besides the digital zoom do you?) or the pentax optio m10. both have the same size. pentax has a 2.5 inch lcd, 6mp,can focus from 4" and has 3x optical. The canon is 4.2mp, 1.8inch lcd, can focus 2", and is 4x optical. I figure the 4x counter-balances the pentaxes higher mega pixel. But enough about what i think i want ot know what you guys would choose or have another recomendation?

best photos i've seen on a cheap cam are from the casio exilim series. my wife has one of the super slim credit card sized ones and the prints are killer straight from the card to the printer. i had a canon powershot s500 and the casio images were nicer.

I got my parents an sd600. Great pictures, 4mp, 3x opt, 2in screen, large easy to understand menus and functions, and it's tiny. Now it is around $220 I believe.
