Hi,

I just received a SWIT S-1080BS LCD Monitor ...
(the cheaper one ... paid 935 Euro ex VAT at 21% )
It has composite and S-Video input ... and Y Pb Pr In put ... (YUV) ...

In S-Video and component mode connected to the HVX-200 the colors are spot on but of SD resolution and looks like it !. Connected to the Component special plug from the HVX- to these three component imputs on the LCD monitor it gives HD resolution ... ( well it looks a lot better even on the units 800 by 480 Resolution) ... however ... by default the colors are of ... which I expected ... as the inputs are not RGB component but YUV. However after a bit of tuning and adjusting the RGB values in the menu it calibrates pretty well.

Question is though ... I have now adjusted these levels to respectively R 47 G 70 and B 65 ... by using my own vision ... IS THERE SOME KIND OF CONVERSION TABLE as a standard for this kind of unorthodox tweaking ?

The quality of the monitor in this mode is very good ... no tails whatsoever and very very detailed ...

Curious for your reactions guys ... Greetings from Brugge - Belgium

The Component output on the HVX is YUV. It should work directly.

However it is possible that the TV has the component inputs in RGB mode, which is tripping you up.

hi, i'm probably missing something here, but how exactly do you get component out from the hvx? whats the best solution for hooking up an external monitor? a varizoom SWIT just arrived on my doorstep.

EDIT: stupid me, just run into the d connector..
