i'm tired of so much tease..

hvx.. red.. and now si

i already did my choice now:

si when available but i'm an INDIE filmmaker..

i'm shooting for real not for posting in these boards..

and i'm tired of so much blabla..

please, Ari think there are so many people that can be your customer and never will have or want to have the spoon setup, ok?

we want affordable gear to theatrical release, yes, to theatrical release.. if all of my work is finishing there at the big screen.

but i hate big crews, i prefer to work with actors.. did anybody hear about a mister callled John Cassavetes?..

so, WE want light gear for RUN AND GUN work.

is it possible to have nice DOF with those Fujinon lenses provided with the $12,500 package?

i already saw the spoon footage but i want to see footage with light lenses.. so i beg for footage with c-mount fujinon lenses not PL mount, ok?

and 35mm SLR F mount also if is it possible?

thx

We will get you the footage next month, as you requested.

BTW, do we need any footage with a ground glass converter, now that we are doing the electronic flip? If yes, which gg model?

Glad to hear that you intend to provide footage with Fujinon lenses and Nikon F lenses. I am still waiting to receive some footage from the Spoon shoot. However like Filmmaker1977, I will be using Fujinons and Fs with the SI. But I understand that the F mount will not be provided with the 12.5 package. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Ari, I think you do need footage with the gg and nikon lenses or pl mount lenses asap, get the G35 GG and then you'll have something amazing. I remember mentioning this sometime ago..your range of customer will exponentially increase within a day.

Also, anymore thoughts about Similo?

Ari, I though you should have shared these pictures with your potential customers a while ago.
Anyway, here it is; SI with Fujinon lens mounted on a custom Felix (ex MPIC).
In the same album (page two), the SI camera has mounted a Nikon lens via Nikon-c-mount.
The image is good but the magnification ratio should also be considered; a 35mm Nikon looks like an 75-85 so... getting a wide angle look is going to be a challenge for anyone taking this route.
Using the image converter (and the Fujinon lens) allows for the true look generated by any SLR lens (including wide angle). If only Fujinon lenses are used (without an image converter), they will provide the specific look of their own focal lenght.
As for the footage, it will follow soon (not from me though). The model I received from Ari is B/W (for testing purposes) and I don't know how to capture/edit/playback the footage, I can noly see it on the computer screen.

MPIC is a good GG model but expensive.. we need affordable gear!

Sorry, I forgot the most important part; the price. Between $1200 and $1500 (give or take $150 or so at both ends) depending on the configuration you choose (camera you want to use) and front mount (s) both Nikon and Canon FD or only one of them. I don't know more right now, so don't ask. I have to check all the CNC prices and assembly time. The achromat is Century (hands down) when needed and the rest...as you know it (more or less). I'll post pics with the production unit when ready.
The whole idea is to get Felix and be able to use it on any camera with a minimum of extra parts (ideally NONE but that's not possible) The price difference (before you ask) comes from having the parts CNC-ed versus individually made and each unit will come with rods/rods support. Add a camera (your choice) and shoot. Have I put a :) on anyone's face?

We hope to recieve a GG converter and follow focus rig this week from Dan. We can then shoot some 35mm DOF footage, as well as, shots using the Fujinon lens in geared operation

We have some greenscreen footage for download:

You can get it here:

http://www.siliconimaging.com/Digita...y_footage.html (http://www.siliconimaging.com/DigitalCinema/gallery_footage.html)

Download and have fun!

P.S. We've been getting great results from Keylight which comes with After Effects 6.5, 7.0, and Shake.

Also note the the shot was a moving jib-arm shot, so it's not the "sharpest" shot you could get from the camera . . . but it shows what can happen with a decent green-screen from the camera.
