Well, I planned on building something this weekend and I finally finished it. Thanks to Vincent Ayala with his plans - it got me to thinking and I did something a little different.

The pictures are not all that great and it was darn hot today too, so ignore the sweaty fat guy.

A first stab at plans and list of parts is available here.

So far the parts are about 30.00

(I forgot to resize the photos - so the pdf is 14MB - I will get that fixed soon)

I'll try to post some test footage this weekend.

Nice Rok. I like the design. I had something similar in my head I wanted to build. Does it work without the weights very well?

Thanks!

The camera sits a little low and out in front, so you are having to support all the weight in front - so you can have your elbows tucked in on the side (That is why I ended up putting the small handles in the back of the camera) I found it awkward without the weights. If you made the arch of the shoulder brace not so high, you could make the camera sit a little higher and closer to the shoulder, so that the bottom of the camera would be parallel to the shoulder, it would probably work without the weights. Much like how the spider brace works.
