I had a full P2 store. I connected it to the computer (mac). I see all mounted drives as icons on my desktop. I want to import it in FCP. But FCP doesn't see the store.
3 corrupted files on de P2 store caused a problem for FCP to see the store. I bought P2 log ( very cool software to log P2 without FCP). Took off all the material and format the P2 store and everything is working well again.

So if FCP doesn't see the P2 store anymore it is due to an error in one off the files on the P2 store.

Maybe we can make a error sticky or something. After a couple of days worriing I found this out. Could have saved me a lot of stress reading this in a kind of sticky or something.

I had some problems with direct import from my P2 Store using FCP too. I've since gone to using P2 Genie to copy the files off the P2 store and P2 Log to do some limited cataloging / deleting before I import the shots I want with FCP. That workflow has been absolutely bullitproof for me.

Well, one of the commonest errors in FCP import of P2 is that you shot with a format that FCP does not support, like 720/25P. I'm assuming that you've covered that base, but it may be worth mentioning. On occasion, I've had an error message returned but when I made FCP try again, the file imported fine. Oh, and assuming you're using FCP5.1 too.

Like you, I find a work-flow that imports using P2 Log, then opening in FCP is better - if only 'cos I can set some of the metadata.

Certainly would be handy to have an easy place to locate error messages that people have experienced and, of course even more importantly, the solution.
