I stick around this site and am really excited about the developments we see almost everday when it comes to the evolution of this incredibly astonishing concept.

However, I can't help but think that this site is going to experience crazy "Turf Wars" between its users as and when the evolutionary developments of this camera continue to seep out. With having a competition to get so many ideas for possible inclusive features for RED I can only see people getting really p****d when all is said and done. Features that were on the original design table, but not discussed by the development team on this forum, are going to be the fuel for people to argue it was their idea and try claiming the proverbial dangling carrott.

"Yes, that was my idea......look at posting #172655548291207 :furious3:

Hope this doesn't come back to haunt us.
Mark.

Nah... I don't think so...

Nobody promissed or guaranteed anything and we should be aware that we don't live in a small village... there are millions of creative people out there (ok, maybe many thousands of *reeeally* creative people) and therefore there are many possibilities that the same idea has been thought by 10 different people or more, or even been tested and implemented in some weird project somewhere...

Besides, since you post to a public forum you should not care much, because you're idea might be taken and already being under ...heavy development by a totally different company (that was curious about this forum) this time we "speak"...

So anyone who would complain would not be a serious person...

Sorry, I didn't complete my argument:
Like you said, they didn't show to us *their* idea list, so how someone knows that the RED team didn't thought of it before his post? I think this was the main idea of the contest: To play a fun mind game that might help the development of a better product, which you might be lucky to buy later. Just that!

Proteus,
I agree wholeheartedly with your reasoning. Thats not to say however that everyone here has the same maturity and outlook as yourself. There will always be some disenfranchised individual(s) looking to lash out at the powers that be when all is said and done.

Lets all hope we don't see that kind of atmosphere develop as and when those red silk drapes are ceremoniously drawn giving us our first real opportunity to take our filmmaking endeavours to the next level. If it does surface then I, for one, would not be surprised.

Cheers,
Mark.

dont worry.. if that comes, i got this nice big red button beside each post that says "delete" heh heh heh..

seriously though, Jim and everyone have been VERY VERY clear that everything they mention is development.. they are allowing us a peek in the window of what happens when you make a camera, and we should all be very greatful.
