There are very strong hoax about Canon Inc. being behind RED either production line and marketing. Anyone care to comment this?

I found it funny that it was a "strong hoax" but no one else had heard anything about it. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Ok, design for RED One is probably done by now. Now it is time to start planning for RED Two. (Yes, even before RED One comes out. RED must stay ahead of the competition. RED can't slack off, not even for one day.)

RED Two should look and function like Canon NU-700 Remote Control Weatherproof Surveillance Camera (except with Mysterium CMOS.)
The cost of the Canon is $8,900. RED could easily charge $25,000 for RED Two.

http://www.telemetricsinc.com/html/canonNU700.html
(make sure to look at the website. Telemetrics is a big company.)

RED One is a "breadbox" design. RED Two should be a "breadbox+lunchbox" design. I can envision it mounted on top of an army tank. Maybe it should be bulletproof too. (I have my T2 soundtrack playing in the background.)

Please post a comment, be it good or bad.

The Sony HDC-X310 is priced at $15,000. RED One will be much better, for not much more. RED Two could easily be priced at $25,000. So quit your crying :crybaby: and start saving you pennies guys.

Forget Red Two - let's just go up to Eleven!! Then we'll always be one louder. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Maybe red will follow its design philosophy and skip a generation and skip to Red 3 instead of 2.

How about using some CANON high quality photo lenses on REDONE. Is there a provision for this with appropriate adapter?

How can you have a Red 2 when the design is modular?

Sounds like someone's trying to start a rumor here . . .

Good point... For example, with the lens mount and sensor being one module I wonder if RED 2 is necessary for a optical VF or if a module upgrade would be enough.

No. The REDTWO will be stereoscopic 3D. Duh.

Actually, that's not a half bad idea...hmmm.

If they make REDTWO with an optical viewfinder, they can sell it for premium. That would be the obvious upgrade, and of course if technology allows, maybe an electronics upgrade, maybe faster frame rates (above 60 for 4K). You can always add features (see MS word), and you can even charge extra for them. The real trick IMHO is to reduce them to the ones you really need and charge reasonably.
