I've read a couple of posts about this but I'm still confused about a setting in Record Set-Up. I had the HVX for a couple hours last week and was doing some taping in 1080i. This was my first time out, so take that into account. I was trying to change the Record Mode to DVCPRO HD, it was on DV50. I don't think it was blued out either. And I couldnt change it. I know I was shooting HD not only because I was in 1080i, but also because I was only able to record 4 minutes onto the 4gig P2 card. Shouldn't the Record Mode in 1080i say DVCPRO HD or be able to be switched to DVCPRO HD? I didn't see it anywhere. Thank you in advance....
480i REC MODE selects the recording mode for a 480i (PAL 576i) recording format. This could be DV, DVCPRO or DVCPRO50. You have to set the REC FORMAT P2 accordingly. If you've set REC FORMAT to 1080i/24p for example the 480i REC MODE is blued out and not selectable.

This one is a bit confusing, so understand this point: if you chose 1080, then you were recording DVCPRO-HD. That other menu is totally not relevant (and would be blue'd out) if you had chosen 1080 or 720. 1080 and 720 are always, inescapably, DVCPRO-HD.
DVCPRO50, DVCPRO, and DV are only valid options if you're shooting in 480i (or 576i) as jjb said.
