Sorry to ask, but I'm have to know....
What would produce a better dub to DV tape -- footage shot in 1080/24pa or 720/24pn, or would they produce the same results.

The difference/if any will be extremely slim. Theoretically, the 1080 might do a better job because more detail is eventually downconverted to the smaller DV format and there might be greater accuracy of color and gradation... OR I could be wrong and it doesn't matter.
BUT I get the feeling that you're making these dubs for editing sake, correct? And you'll eventually be mastering out to 1080 or 720 depending on which format you shoot, correct? If that's the case, again, the difference/if any will be very slim. Best bet though is to do some tests on your own... try both ways and see what you prefer and what's the most efficient process for your production.
