Hi,

Just wondering if all the necessary drivers for the HVX200 are available at the panasonic site. I'm getting two different prices which vary greatly for cameras that don't come with the software disc. They tell me people are buying them as second cameras. I'm assuming that's because they have one already with the necessary software. Any help?

Thanks,
Bird

If you are offered a slightly better price for a camera without "normal" accesories, I would fly like a bird, (ha) and NOT buy from that dealer.
Maybe Jan or someone could explain why this happens, but it scares the heck out of me.
JMHO.

But I'm pretty sure you can get all the drivers from Panasonic.

Yeah, you've bumped into a shady dealer, probably by looking for the lowest price in a search engine -- Panasonic doesn't sell the HVX-200 without accessories.

If in doubt, check ResellerRatings.com.

Any camera shipped from the factory has the disk. If the disk is missing, then something should tell you that the box has been cut open and other accessories might be missing as well, like a component cable.

That said, you do not want to buy a gray market camera and this sort of smells like one. All of the software is downloadable off of the website.

Best,

Jan
