I was testing the demo version of P2 Log in my Mac Book Pro and it wasn't displaying the clip in the "monitor" window.
It also crashes when I try to "display media information" in the "video" window's dropdown menu.
Has anyone else tried this?
This was with the universal binary version of the program.
QT v7.0.4
2 GB RAM
MBP 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo
Works just fine with the same clips on my dual 2.5 GHz G5.

Both of those features are working fine for me. I did buy the program if that makes any difference. Running the same setup as you except my MBP is a 2 ghz core duo. I think the demo is limited to showing 1 clip but the features you mention should work.

Thanks for the info.
It's a bit perplexing. But Dan and the programmers are working hard at identifying this particular problem with the demo. And, as you mentioned, it could be just an issue with the demo version.

Has this been resolved Sensui? Generally any display issues crop up because the DVCPro HD codec is missing from the target computer. This codec is installed by Apple pro apps like FCP HD, but you can copy it from your editor if needed.
There is no difference between the P2 Log demo and full version regarding video functionality. We simply turned off some of the viewing and file options.
There is no difference between demo and full regarding UB. For about 3 days when we first launched there inadvertently was a PPC demo, but that was immediately replaced with the UB. We sell only one version of the software.

Dan...
Hasn't been resolved yet.
I suspect it might have something to do with the version of Final Cut which I installed. It's version 5.04 and not 5.1. The latest universal binary version should be here in about a week. I'll test it again once I get that installed and see how it goes.
Would you happen to know if the codecs installed with 5.1 are different or identical to the codecs installed with 5.04?
Thanks again for all the help. At least I know it works on the G5 and that will be as useful as having it on the Mac Book.

Update:
Finally got the 5.1 universal upgrade for FCP and installed it into the Mac Book Pro.
P2 Log works now and doesn't crash when it's told to "display video information" in the "video" field.
So the problem has to do with the codec installed by FCP versions other than 5.1.
