HVX asa and weight

I'm shooting a 16x9 miniDV project in two weeks and am weighing the options of DVX with anamorphic adapter vs. HVX. I know the HVX is slower but does anyone know how many stops? Also, this is a verite style show for Brit TV so there will be many hours of hand held everyday, and I have heard nothing but horror stories about the anamorphic adapter. Anyone shot with the HVX for 5-6 hours a day? Or with the adapter? My thought is to sell my DVX, buy the HVX sans cards, and shoot my next few miniDV projects with the HVX. Any thoughts?

the HVX is going to get really heavy before you hit 5-6 hours . . .
